Version 1.1 · effective 2026-11-02

Changes in 1.1: product renamed to Routesmate; addresses moved to routesmate.com.

Summary

1. What is not allowed

You must not host, display, upload, share or send anything that:

  1. belongs to someone else and you have no right to share;
  2. is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic, or invades someone’s bodily privacy, including intimate images shared without consent;
  3. sexually exploits or endangers children in any way — we report this to the authorities and ban at once;
  4. is harassing, threatening, insulting on the basis of gender, religion, caste, race, ethnicity, disability or sexuality, or encourages violence;
  5. reveals someone’s private information — their home address, live location, phone number or ID — without their consent (“doxxing”);
  6. impersonates another person or misleads about who you are or where a message came from;
  7. is knowingly false or misleading and likely to cause harm, or is content a court or a competent authority has required us to act on;
  8. infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights;
  9. contains malware or anything designed to harm devices or the Service;
  10. threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with other countries or public order, or incites an offence;
  11. promotes online gambling or games not permitted under Indian law;
  12. is spam — repeated unwanted messages, scams, or commercial promotion;
  13. otherwise breaks any law in force.

You must also not: track anyone without their knowledge or pressure someone to share their location; use fake-location tools; use Routesmate for commercial or fleet tracking; or share a public watch link of someone else.

2. Images

Images are checked for nudity on your phone before they are sent. A flagged image is delivered blurred and the recipient chooses whether to view it. Media from people you do not share a trip with is always blurred. Automatic checks are imperfect; please report anything that slips through.

3. Reporting

You can report a user or a message from their profile, the message itself, or the trip roster. Reasons include spam, harassment, impersonation, an inappropriate photo, an underage user, and other. We do not tell the reported person who reported them. People who are not users can report content to [email protected].

4. Blocking

You can block any user. A block stops the two of you being placed in the same trip again, and the other person is not told. If you are already in a trip together, you both stay, but you are hidden from each other — no chat, profile, presence or location — and you both see the same neutral notice. Safety alerts (crash, fall, SOS) are never blocked.

5. What we do

Step What happens
Content removed We remove the content and tell you why, with a link to appeal
Warning A recorded warning
Restriction Limited features, usually 7 days
Suspension Signed out everywhere and locked, usually 30 days
Ban Account closed permanently

We usually move up these steps for repeated breaches. For child sexual abuse material, credible threats or doxxing we may ban immediately and report to the police. We use automatic word filters and spam signals to flag content; filters only flag or hide content for review — every warning, restriction, suspension and ban is decided by a member of our moderation team, and you can appeal it.

We act on complaints within the timelines on the Contact & Grievance page, including removing intimate or sexual images of a person within 24 hours of their complaint, and comply with court orders and lawful government directions.

6. Appeals

If you disagree with a decision, appeal through Help & Support → Account & sign-in → Appeal a decision. A different moderator reviews it. You may also approach the Grievance Officer, and, after that, the Grievance Appellate Committee under the IT Rules, 2021.

7. Annual reminder

We will remind you of these Guidelines, the Terms and the Privacy Policy at least once a year, and whenever they change.
