Settle expenses with UPI

Routesmate works out who owes whom in a trip. Simplify debts (on by default) keeps the number of payments as small as possible.

1. Open the trip's Expenses, then Settle up.
2. Tap Pay next to the person you owe. Your UPI app opens with their UPI ID, the amount and a note naming the trip.
3. Finish the payment in your UPI app, then come back to Routesmate.
4. Answer Did the payment go through? Tap Yes only if the money left your account.

The other person gets a message that you paid and taps Confirm or Not received. The debt is settled once they confirm. If they say it didn't arrive, check your UPI app's history and sort it out with them.

Paid in cash? Tap Settled in cash. It works the same way: you mark it, they confirm.

No Pay button? The other person hasn't added a UPI ID. Settle in cash, or ask them to add one in Profile.

Your UPI ID is shown only to people in your trips who have an open balance with you, never publicly. Routesmate doesn't take any fee: the money goes straight from your UPI app to theirs.
